2
FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Board decided at its March 6, 2008 regular meeting that it would
consider spending up to $100,000 from the unappropriated fund balance in the .County's
General Fund to carry out the voter information effort ultimately selected by the Board. County
Budget staff will execute an amendment to the County's FY 2007-08 Budget Ordinance that
appropriates from fund balance to the Governing and Management function of the General Fund
the amount approved by the Board for this voter education effort.
RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board:
1. review and discuss the recommended proposal for media consulting services related to
the land transfer tax voter education effort;
2. direct the Manager to prepare an agreement -subject to final review by staff and the
County Attorney -between the County and the selected consultant that includes the
elements of the proposal approved by the BOCC;
3. authorize the Chair to sign the resulting agreement; and
4. direct staff to amend the County's FY 2007-08 Budget Ordinance to appropriate the
amount approved by the Board for this voter education effort from fund balance to the
Governing and Management function of the General Fund.
