The low bid <br /> received was for $359,356, which significantly exceeded the amount <br /> available in the capital project budget. Following staff discussions <br /> about the uses of the building and the investment involved in putting <br /> on a new roof, specifications were modified to request bids for a roof <br /> with a guaranteed life of 10 years. The low bid received is for <br /> $193,920, which is within the funds available for this capital project. <br /> A tabulation of bid results is attached. <br /> RTD Roofing Engineering, the designer of the roof, has provided a <br /> background check for the lowest bidder, and has recommended award be <br /> made to the lowest bidder - Guaranteed Systems of Stoneville, NC. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends: that the Board award the bid <br /> for roof replacement at the Northern Human Services Center to <br /> Guaranteed Systems; that a contract be approved, contingent upon <br /> Attorney and staff review; and that the Chair be authorized to sign on <br /> behalf of the Board. <br />
