Presentation of .Orange County Arts Commission grant awards. <br /> 2. Informational report to the Board regarding activities and goals <br /> of the Arts Commission. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Orange County Arts Commission was created by a resolution of the Board of County <br /> Commissioners on February 4, 1985. The Arts Commission is the official county-wide <br /> advisory body on the arts. It's primary goals are: (1) to serve as the Local Distributing <br /> Agent of State Grassroots Grants and local (Orange County) funds; (2) to serve as a <br /> "clearing house" for information on the arts; (3) to facilitate the development of <br /> self-sustaining arts programs; and (4) to advise the Board of Commissioners on matters <br /> involving the arts. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S) : <br /> The Manager recommends that the Board of Commissioners present the grant awards to the <br /> recipients and receive the status report for information only. <br />
