g. Proclamation — Bill of Riqhts Day <br /> The Board adopted a proclamation to officially recognize Bill of Rights Day in Orange County <br /> during the month of December and authorized the Chair to sign. <br /> h. Hillsborouqh Commons Lease Amendment for Expansion of Northern Oranqe <br /> Employment and Traininq Center <br /> The Board approved a proposal to amend the Hillsborough Commons Lease to include the <br /> recently vacated space adjacent to the Department of Social Services ("DSS") in Hillsborough <br /> for the purpose of expanding employment and training efforts in northern Orange County; <br /> authorize the Manager to execute the Lease Amendment upon County Attorney approval <br /> during the Winter break; and authorize the DSS Director to budget unanticipated revenue <br /> received in this fiscal year for any costs related to the lease and occupancy of the space. <br /> i. Approval of Budqet Amendment#4-B Related to Position Chanqes and Receipt of <br /> Additional Medicaid Revenue within the Health Department <br /> The Board approved Budget Amendment#4-B related to position changes and receipt of <br /> additional Medicaid revenue within the Health Department, specifically to: approve changing a <br /> currently budgeted 1.0 FTE Public Health Nurse I position to two .50 FTE Public Health Nurse I <br /> positions; increase a currently budgeted .50 FTE Public Health Nurse II Preparedness <br /> Coordinator position to a .60 FTE position; approve changing a currently budgeted temporary <br /> grant funded Medical Office Assistant position to a permanent .50 FTE position; and approve <br /> the receipt of$5,468 in additional Medicaid revenue. <br /> • Discussion and Approval of the Items Removed from the Consent Agenda <br /> c. Contract Renewal for Enqineerinq Services <br /> The Board considered approving a contract amendment to the existing agreement for <br /> general engineering and environmental services for the Solid Waste Management Department <br /> with Draper Aden Associates, Inc. for engineering and consulting services for two (2) additional <br /> years through December 31, 2016 and authorizing the Chair to sign. <br /> Chair Jacob said he has previously asked about the length of this contract, the location <br /> of the vendor, and whether the vendor pays a living wage. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Price to <br /> request that anytime the County is extending an existing contract, staff will supply information <br /> regarding how many years that contract has been in existence, whether the vendor has an <br /> office or is located in Orange County, and whether or not the vendor pays a living wage. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Jacobs, seconded by Commissioner Rich to <br /> approve a contract amendment to the existing agreement for general engineering and <br /> environmental services for the Solid Waste Management Department with Draper Aden <br /> Associates, Inc. for engineering and consulting services for two (2) additional years through <br /> December 31, 2016 and authorize the Chair to sign. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 7.
