BOARD OF ORANGE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (BOCC) <br />GOALS — 2015 UPDATE <br />FOR DISCUSSIONS PURPOSES <br />Emergency Services <br />• The EMS division utilizes technology for daily <br />EMS activity, to track citizen inquiries, to track <br />logistic work orders, and to maintain employee <br />information. <br />• Technology called "Marvelous" will be <br />implemented to place available units closer to <br />the next "anticipated" call for service, enabling <br />us to further reduce response times. <br />Information Technology <br />• Facilitate public records request via email <br />archiving, document scanning and electronic <br />backup retention policies <br />55 <br />improve the user's interface and <br />experience. "One Project, One Permit" <br />philosophy. <br />• Shared access to UNC hospital's "EPIC" <br />EHR. <br />Emergency Services <br />• EMS will be expanding the webEOC <br />system to incorporate ambulance checkout <br />processes and field training evaluation <br />processes. <br />• The Communications Division is <br />implementing new technology that will <br />enable the closest unit to respond to the <br />call, which will reduce response times. The <br />Emergency Management Division <br />implemented a technology called <br />"Salamander" that tracks responders at <br />planned and unplanned events; this was <br />recently used during the Active Shooter <br />trainings and the Halloween event on <br />Franklin Street. <br />Information Technology <br />• Implementation of updated technology to <br />improve internal effectiveness for service <br />to County residents. <br />• Electronic Agendas <br />• Electronic contract routing <br />• Expansion of BOCC meeting <br />facilities <br />• Document scanning project <br />• Consistent PC replacement <br />implementation <br />• Embracing mobile technology <br />
