BOARD OF ORANGE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (BOCC) <br />GOALS — 2015 UPDATE <br />FOR DISCUSSIONS PURPOSES <br />29 <br />GOALS/PRIORITIES <br />ONGOING EFFORTS <br />SPECIFIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br />non - profits, entrepreneurial start -ups, UNC, and <br />Investment Grant programs which are <br />the arts /tourism sectors. <br />funded by Article 46's quarter cent sales <br />tax to support economic development. <br />• This information will be presented to the <br />BOCC in a work session on 1/27/15, with a <br />goal to receive the BOCC's comments and <br />approval for the two grant programs to <br />become operational and financially support <br />Orange County's small businesses and <br />agricultural ventures. <br />• The Orange County Economic <br />Development Advisory Board has offered <br />to manage the grant programs, receive and <br />review applications, and make grant award <br />decisions, subject to BOCC approval. <br />Aging Services <br />• The Advisory Board on Aging provides the <br />BOCC monthly meeting agendas, minutes and <br />MAP quarterly status reports. <br />• The Aging Board members also serve on the <br />Housing and Transportation Boards, as well as <br />serving on several non - profit boards that offer <br />aging related services. <br />Planning /OPT <br />• Beginning in 2015, increased Orange Unified <br />Transportation Board (OUTBoard) role in <br />planning for public transit (consistent with <br />previous BOCC action consolidating the former <br />Transportation Services Advisory Board) to <br />meet legal requirements as a recipient of <br />Federal Section 5311 funds. <br />• In collaboration with other County departments <br />
