BOARD OF ORANGE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (BOCC) <br />GOALS — 2015 UPDATE <br />FOR DISCUSSIONS PURPOSES <br />26 <br />GOALS/PRIORITIES <br />ONGOING EFFORTS <br />SPECIFIC ACCOMPLISHMENTS <br />Efland- Buckhorn- Mebane access <br />management planning area. <br />Planning and Inspections <br />• Worked with Orange County Attorney's <br />Office and the Town of Chapel Hill to <br />create a Mutual Aid Agreement, where in <br />the case of an emergency or other <br />extenuating circumstances Orange County <br />Inspections will off assistance with <br />manpower, supplies, or equipment so <br />Chapel Hill Inspections can continue <br />operations. This agreement similarly <br />allows the Town of Chapel Hill Inspections <br />staff to assist Orange County if the need is <br />required. <br />• Assisted the Town of Chapel Hill during <br />the summer and fall of 2014 with <br />residential and commercial plans review as <br />Chapel Hill was experiencing an <br />unexpected reduction of staff. Orange <br />County Inspections completed <br />approximately fifty residential reviews and <br />forty commercial plan reviews constituting <br />several hundred employee hours. <br />Planning Department <br />• Planning staff is working with Emergency <br />Services on the location /development of <br />telecommunication facilities to expand and <br />augment our emergency communications <br />network. <br />• Coordinating the development of a regional <br />water impoundment policy for eventual review <br />by the elected officials concerning provision of <br />
