BOARD OF ORANGE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS (BOCC) <br />GOALS — 2015 UPDATE <br />FOR DISCUSSIONS PURPOSES <br />assure safety for vulnerable families. <br />• Social Services continues to partner with other <br />agencies to provide more effective and <br />comprehensive services including outreach <br />workers located at senior centers and staff at <br />UNC hospital. The agency provides office <br />space to non -profit organizations serving the <br />same clients in an effort to provide a one -stop <br />location for services. <br />Pnnhlir Rf -nith <br />Infrastructure: <br />• On -site comprehensive medical and dental <br />services <br />• Home -based services for communicable <br />disease, family support and environmental <br />assessment <br />• Community partnerships to provide <br />environmental and policy changes to improve <br />the community's health <br />Cnlid Waste <br />m <br />Veterans Service Officer position to now <br />include social work services if needed and <br />provided services at several locations in the <br />county to support county veterans and their <br />families. <br />Pnhlir M-n1th <br />• Health Department has been accredited for <br />the last 7 years, one of the first in the state. <br />• Increase in all of our services and programs <br />provided. <br />• Increase in county funds a percent of our <br />total Health Department budget <br />• Increase in the percent of "zero -pay" <br />individuals in our clinics and a decrease in <br />the percent of patients with insurance. <br />• Significant increase the percent of bi- <br />lingual staff, now 25% of HD staff are bi- <br />lingual. <br />Cnlirl Waste <br />Provide hazardous household waste drop -off • <br />locations for county residents <br />Established and maintains emergency storm <br />debris management sites to be used for all <br />debris generated within the county from severe <br />weather events. <br />Established second hazardous household <br />waste drop -off location at modernized <br />Walnut Grove Church Road Solid Waste <br />Convenience Center to enable northern <br />County residents to more conveniently <br />dispose hazardous household wastes for <br />
