5 <br />Page 3 <br />PURPOSE OF CONTACTS: Contacts are typically to give and exchange information, provide <br />services, resolve problems and educate persons. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is typically performed while sitting, standing, walking, <br />bending, crouching or stooping. The employee occasionally lifts light and heavy objects, uses <br />equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity, and must distinguish between shades of color.. <br />WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work is typically performed in a clinic. The employeers <br />exposed to noise, dust, dirt, and contagious or infectious diseases. The work requires the use of <br />protective devices such as masks or gloves. <br />SUPERVISORY AND MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY: This position has clinical <br />supervision over dental residents, dental hygienists, dental assistants and dental students. <br />MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: <br />o Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of an <br />approved school of dentistry. <br />o Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of <br />the subunits in the division department in order to direct and coordinate clinical work <br />within the division/department, usually interpreted to require one to two years of related <br />experience. <br />o Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver' s license issued by the State of <br />North Carolina for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. <br />o ~ Possession of license to practice dentistry in North Carolina and/or become eligible for <br />licensure to practice dentistry in North Carolina within 6 months of employment. <br />o Possession of Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license. <br />o Possession of or ability to obtain CPR certification within 6 months of employment. <br />
