Increase of: <br />➢ 146.6 acres in the VAD <br />➢ 75.9 acres in the EVAD. <br />➢ If approved, total of acres in both programs: <br />VAD = 6191 acres <br />EVAD = 953 acres <br />➢ Total Acres in Orange County Voluntary Agricultural Program = 7144 acres <br />• Overview Map <br />December 2014 <br />• VAD = 6191 acres <br />• EVAD = 953 acres <br />Total Acres = 7144* <br />• indicates farm location of new VAD /EVAD applicants <br />* rounded acres <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Pelissier, seconded by Commissioner Rich for the <br />Board certify the five (5) farm properties noted above totaling 146.66 acres (VAD) and 75.95 <br />acres (EVAD) as denoted in the attached documentation as qualifying farmland, and designate <br />them as Voluntary or Enhanced Voluntary Agricultural District farms within the Cedar Grove, <br />Efland /High Rock, Schley /Eno, and White Cross Voluntary Agricultural Districts; and enroll <br />the lands in the Orange County Voluntary Agricultural District (VAD) and the Enhanced <br />Voluntary Agricultural District (EVAD) programs. <br />With approval of these additional acres, the Orange County Voluntary Agricultural <br />District Program will have enrolled 56 farms; totaling 6,191 acres in the VAD and 953 acres in <br />the EVAD for a total of 7,144 acres (rounded). <br />VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br />Commissioner Pelissier asked that the Chair send a letter of appreciation to all of the <br />people who enroll in the Voluntary Agricultural District.
