And more coordination is <br /> needed at other area child care centers in northern Orange County. (Orange County <br /> Department on Aging - OPT). <br /> • Would like to see more coordination among the Health Department, Schools, Senior Centers, <br /> Social Services, Hospitals, and Dental School. (Orange County Health Department). <br /> Improving Transportation Services <br /> Human service agencies surveyed were asked to identify the most important action that could be <br /> done to improve transportation services for their agency clients. Although there were varying answers, <br /> there were still common issues expressed by the respondents that would be important in improving <br /> transportation services. Improvements identified by the survey respondents included the following: <br /> • A larger vehicle to accommodate more children. (Wake County Opportunities, Inc.) <br /> • More frequent routes or bus runs - some services only operate once in the morning and once <br /> in the afternoon. (Orange County Housing/Community Development Department). <br /> • Increased marketing and advertising. (Orange County Department on Aging - OPT). <br /> • A public transportation system with special emphasis on critical locations for clients (social <br /> service agencies, day care centers, major work sites,health provides, retail centers). (Orange <br /> County Health Department). <br /> • Public transportation in Northern Orange that provides linkages throughout the County. <br /> Increase the amount of transportation available at peak hours. There is also a need for more <br /> bus line scheduling, more stops at many sites. Waiting time is too long for working parents <br /> if you miss a bus to get to your destination on time. <br /> • Connections to smaller outlying communities. (Durham Technical Community College). <br /> • Provide and promote service between Hillsborough and Chapel Hill/Carrboro.
