The current by-laws state, "Distribution of Commission members <br /> shall be as follows: at least five members shall reside in Chapel Hill Township; at least three in <br /> Hillsborough Township; at least five from Bingham,Eno,Little River, Cheeks, or Cedar Grove <br /> Townships. The remaining two shall reside in any township in Orange County." The Commission <br /> believes that the current by-laws are too restrictive regarding township representation. This has allowed <br /> some Board positions to remain vacant for a significant length of time,while preventing some well- <br /> qualified applicants from being considered for membership. The proposed change will ensure <br /> representation from both ends of the County,while providing necessary flexibility. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): As the Board decides. <br />
