Contract with Dept. of Community Pediatrics <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER: <br /> Hillsborough -732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill -968-4501 <br /> Mebane -227-2031 <br /> Durham -688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: <br /> To approve a substitute contract between the OCHD and the UNC-CH School of Medicine for its <br /> Department of Community Pediatrics. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> After approval by the Board of Commissioners on September 5, 1995, the Department of Community <br /> Pediatrics noted that one of the pediatrician's functions under paragraph 2 (g). "Emergency phone <br /> consultation shall be available as needed during non-business hours." This function had not been <br /> calculated into their budget of $19,064. Therefore, they have requested an additional amount of <br /> $3,082 to cover this service. <br /> This amount is felt to be appropriate by the Health Department and funco are available in the <br /> professional contracts service line item to cover the cost. <br /> The attached contract was prepared by the Department of Community Pediatrics and is in the <br /> process of approval by University administration. Therefore, a substitute rather than amendment to <br /> the contract was felt to be the most expeditious means of handling this change. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends approval of the substitute contract and that <br /> the Chair be authorized to sign the contract. <br />
