r" l <br /> 8 <br /> 25 feet to the BEGINNING. <br /> This property is hereafter referred to as the County owned lot, and <br /> is adjacent to the Town owned lot, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Town of Chapel Hill wishes to acquire the County <br /> owned lot to join with the Town owned lot so the Town owned lot may <br /> be developed for use in an affordable housing demonstration project <br /> which will involve the building of small starter homes on the <br /> combined parcel, and <br /> WHEREAS, the development of affordable housing is a benefit to <br /> the people of Chapel Hill and Orange County, and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County wishes to convey the County owned lot <br /> to the Town of Chapel Hill for the purpose described herein, and <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §160A-274, authorizes <br /> the Town of Chapel Hill to receive any real property belonging to <br /> any other governmental unit upon such terms and conditions as the <br /> Town of Chapel Hill deems wise, with or without consideration. <br /> IT IS THEREFORE RESOLVED THAT <br /> 1 . The Town of Chapel Hill, pursuant to North Carolina <br /> General Statutes §160A-274, accepts the offer of transfer from <br /> Orange County of the County owned lot . <br /> 2 . The Chapel Hill Attorney is authorized to accept on <br /> behalf of the Town of Chapel Hill, the deed for the County owned <br /> lot, in a form approved by the Chapel Hill attorney. <br /> Adopted this day of 1995 . <br /> Ayes <br />
