Subject: Board of <br /> Commissioners Goal Setting Retreat <br /> At the 11/16/95 Advisory Board meeting, subject of"Goal Setting" was addressed and <br /> acted on. The Board voted unanimously to adopt and promote the following major <br /> themes for 1996: <br /> 1) "Outreach" <br /> 2) Transportation enhancement <br /> 3) Medication Purchase and proper use <br /> A brief description for each goal follows: <br /> Outreach: <br /> • Broaden Advisory Board members' activities such as monthly activity reports of each <br /> senior center/site <br /> • SHIIP* counseling at all senior centers/sites <br /> • Pilot program of future efforts could be monthly offering of SHIIP counseling <br /> and tax assistance <br /> • Incorporate medications Brown Bag efforts in outreach <br /> • Increase seniors' access to Advisory Board meetings via open discussion periods. <br /> Transportation: <br /> • Ongoing monitoring and assessment of transportation services for the elderly, <br /> medically needy, and adequate senior centers/sites access <br /> Medications: <br /> • Increase services of Brown Bag assessments <br /> • Provide information on medication cost and assistance for low income seniors <br /> Based on the above outline I feel that our goals provide opportunities for all seniors to be <br /> assisted, and also provides for their participation.
