The committee unanimously agreed to <br /> forward the following goal to the Board of Commissioners: <br /> The employment provision of the Civil Rights Ordinance will take effect on January 1, <br /> 1996, and implementation of Phase ll will be a major focus for staff and board in the <br /> coming fiscal year. Above and beyond the Ordinance, the Human Relations Commission <br /> is committed to developing its capacity to position itself as a greater resource to the <br /> community on human relations issues, and will explore specific objectives for realizing this <br /> goal at its upcoming annual retreat, themed`Beyond the Ordinance." <br /> We are ready and willing to discuss this goal and any other human relations issues at your <br /> upcoming retreat, if you wish. <br /> Thank you for this opportunity to share our priorities with the Board of Commissioners. <br /> P.O.
