3.3 LAND USE PLAN CATEGORIES <br /> LAND USE PLAN CATEGORY DESCRIPTIONS <br /> RESOURCE PROTECTION AREAS: Land designated as Primary Conservation <br /> Areas which contains idenfifiable eF petentied MfUffil sensitive environmental resources, <br /> historically significant sites, and features considered unbuildable because of their <br /> limitations or unsuitability for development. This includes wetlands and tloodplains <br /> along drainage tributaries, aid-steep slope areas (15% or greater), natural areas, wildlife <br /> habitats and corridors, and significant historic and archaeological sites. These areas <br /> form the basis for a paF6 mid epen spsee system conservation network whieh peeves <br /> the fimmwefk within which other land uses are situated. <br /> 3.4 LOCATIONAL CRITERIA <br /> PLAN CATEGORY: RESOURCE PROTECTION AREAS <br /> Land Slope: ate-oval% . Located in areas where slopes are 15% or greater. <br /> Hydrology: Located in anes dw&Fe ift eF wetlands and 100-year floodplain areas <br /> along drainage tributaries or adjacent to steep slopes aFeas. <br /> Flora and Fauna: Located in areas that ffmy contain significant natural areas and <br /> wildlife habitats, including connecting wildlife corridors, <br /> speeies as identified by local, state or federal gevemment inventories. <br /> Soil Conditions: Ne-eyeluatien. Located in areas that contain alluvial and/or hydric <br /> (wet)soils. <br /> Public Services/Utilities: Located in areas where urban-type services will not be required <br /> and should be discouraged. <br /> Transportation Systems: Located in areas where arterial or collector roads would not <br /> exist or be needed. <br /> Energy Use: No evaluation. <br /> Existing Land Use: Located in areas that are best left undeveloped because of their <br /> limitations or unsuitability for development, and 'ea in a --`mW stme and/or <br /> preserved because of the presence of environmentally sensitive <br /> features and/or historically significant sites. <br /> Agricultural and Forestry: See Existing Land Use. <br />
