ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: March 18, 2008 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. 10-b <br />SUBJECT: Equalization and Review-New Appointments <br />DEPARTMENT: Board of Commissioners <br />PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): Under Separate Cover <br />Membership Roster <br />Letter of Recommendation <br />Interest List <br />Application(s)/Resume(s) of Person(s) on the <br />Interest List <br />PURPOSE: To consider appointments to the Board of Equalization and Review. <br />BACKGROUND: Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 105-322, a Special Board of <br />Equalization and Review was created by a Resolution adopted by the Orange <br />County Board of Commissioners on January 15, 2008. The Clerk's office has <br />advertised and recruitment has also been done by the Tax Assessor's office, with <br />several applications received. <br />The Orange County Special Board of Equalization and Review shall consist of <br />three regular members plus alternate members, each to serve for a term in <br />accordance with G.S. 105-322. One regular member shall serve as chair of the <br />Board of Equalization and Review. <br />Pick 3 regular members, with one serving as chair.
