' = <br /> Chapel Sill, N:.Z­­275 1-6 <br /> Dear Hr. ✓ <br /> At their eet-ing last night, the- Orange County Cosaission rs <br /> considered the Chapel .Hill Town Saard's resolution of September 11. <br /> The rosolvtion requested the Commissioners' attendance at a work <br /> session on the Greene Tract an October 11 at 5:30 PK to be followed <br /> by a joint p1wMing Area Public Hearing on the Draft Northwest <br /> small Area plan..zt:? 10. PlK. <br /> ]after due' deliberation, the COamissioners voted unanisoualy <br /> not to approvi a notice of public hearing for October 11. In that <br /> the jointly-gowned Greene Tract is a focal point of the draft plan, <br /> the cosvijs�siaFnnrs felt that the future disposition of the property <br /> should be Luny -discussed by Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Orange <br /> county before the plan is considered at public hearing. They were <br /> supportive of the 5:30-vwk session, .butt didn't feel that two hours <br /> was adequate ties to consider and .resolvo all issues. <br /> A related.. issue 'discussed -by the Comwissioners was the <br /> possibility of .a iuturt -landfill on site 17. As you know, a public <br /> hearing on possible landfill sites is scheduled for September 29. <br /> The Cosstissiorers- acknowledged that if site i ultimately f th <br /> selected for .a- -landfill# there will .be implications <br /> Northwest Small Area Plan. Accordingly, the orange County <br /> Commissioners requested that: <br /> 1) The 5:3o P![ work session on the Greens Tract be held on <br /> October -li;. and <br /> 2) ttmat, in lieu of the public hearing, a second work session <br /> be conducted on the sane evening on the Draft Northwest <br /> small Area Plan which considers the plan Is= and without. <br /> site i1 as the new landfill. <br /> please -call if you- have Questions or it I can provide further <br /> inf ormation. <br /> Sinc y <br /> Jo K.
