TOWN OF CHAPEL HILL -
306 NORTH COLtlMIMA MEET
CHAPEL HLL. NORTH CAROLINA 27516
Ms. Weezie Oldenburg T.@O-(919)9U-27M
The Homestead Group
403 Laurel Hill Road
Chapel Hill, N.C. 27514
April 28, 1995
RE: Homestead Commons - Concept Plan Review
(File No. 24-9)
Dear Ms. Oldenburg:
As you know, at their April 26,1995, meeting, the Design Review Board conducted a review
of the proposed Homestead commons project. The following comments and recommendations
were made by the Board for your consideration:
j
1. The Board praised your innovative approach in utilizing a planned development housing
scheme for a single family housing unit project. The Board suggested that you should be
prepared to address the affordable housing concerns of the community and how your
project may meet the concern of providing affordable housing,
2. The Board suggested that you carefully look at the placement of the garages. Some
appear to be placed between the street and other houses, possibly blocking good views.
3. The proposed North West Small Area Plan road proposals need careful consideration as
they relate to your property. The Board suggested that you look at the whole area traffic
plan needs and possibly suggest an alternate to the proposed extension of Seawall School
Road.
S'Ould You have any questions, or need farther information, please feeler to call me at 968-
2728.
Si rely,
Dave Roesler, Planner
CC: J.
