. 9 ATTACHMENT 5 <br /> MEMORANDUM <br /> TO: Mayor and Council <br /> .I <br /> FROM: Sarah Kogut, Chair <br /> Human Services Advisory Board <br /> SUBJECT: Northwest Area Plan <br /> DATE: June 14, 1995 <br /> The Human Services Advisory Board appreciates the opportunity to review the <br /> Northwest Area Plan. The Board held a meeting on <br /> nand formulate rhea <br /> presentation from Rob Wilson of the 9 Department <br /> recommendations. <br /> After careful consideration of the Northwest Area Plan, the Board offers the following <br /> comments and recommendations: <br /> - The Board strongly supports the plan to include affordable housing in the <br /> development of this area; however, the Board recommends the issue be addressed <br /> more thoroughly. The Board views the formula which uses median income to be an <br /> l residents. The <br /> inadequate guide due to the high annual salaries of <br /> many <br /> ot the Chapel <br /> ommllunity and would <br /> Board views affordable housing as critical to the diversity <br /> like to see methods of funding explored. While builders should not be <br /> be feasible to fund <br /> affordable housing completely, joint public-private <br /> -The Board is concerned the implementation of development could deviate from <br /> this plan.
