In trying to find the best <br /> information, the best area to preserve, why would not <br /> another site be as worthy or more worthy since the <br /> Alexander Hogan site will already be preserved by being <br /> in the landfill buffer? <br /> Ward replied that he would like to see every site in <br /> Orange County evaluated relative to National Register <br /> criteria. <br /> T. Dickinson stated that this recommendation needs to <br /> be more specific about the information that will be <br /> gained from this site, more specific about the <br /> importance of the data that is at this site, and more <br /> specific about the amount of area that it is taking <br /> into account. <br /> MOTION: Rich moved to end discussion on the <br /> recommendation of the Alexander Hogan <br /> Plantation Site for National Register <br /> Nomination. Seconded by Anderson. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. <br /> Although the site may have archeological significance, <br /> the Commission feels that it does not meet the criteria <br /> for National Register because of these reasons. <br /> 1. The Commission disagrees with the bounds of <br /> the nomination. <br /> 2. The Commission has not been convinced of its <br /> unique significance. <br /> 3. The Commission feels that it does not hold up <br /> the integrity issue. It does not have the <br /> ability to convey its significance as a site. <br /> 4. The Commission feels that it is redundant <br /> sites in the County of similar age and <br /> potential. <br /> KOTION: Rich moved that the recommendation for the <br /> 11 <br />
