Fikes x2490 <br /> TELEPHONE NUMBER <br /> Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 968-4501 <br /> Mebane 227-2031 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> PURPOSE: To award one ( 1) housing rehabilitation contracts for the <br /> HOME Housing Rehabilitation Program. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Housing and Community Development Department solicited bids <br /> from qualified housing rehabilitation contractors participating <br /> in the County' s Housing Rehabilitation Program. Sealed bids <br /> were received from participating contractors on June 26, 1995 <br /> and opened on the same days respectively. Bid results are <br /> attached. <br /> Present program procedures provide that housing rehabilitation <br /> contracts be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder. Bid <br /> award was approved for Dwelling #19 on August 3, 1995. <br /> However, since that time, the lowest bidder for Dwelling #19, <br /> Sanders Bilt Construction Co. has informed the County that they <br /> will be unable to accept the contract. Thus, County staff <br /> recommends awarding the bid to the next lowest bidder, Taylor <br /> Home Improvements. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> The Manager recommends awarding the following rehabilitation .contract: <br /> Dwelling Unit Bid Amount Contractor <br /> #19 $ 7,435 Taylor Home Improvements <br />
