This month provides the <br /> opportunity to recognize the value and potential of people with disabilities. It is also a <br /> time for state and local governments to recommit to the empowerment, integration, <br /> employment, and full inclusion of all citizens with disabilities. <br /> In an effort to commemorate this occasion, the Orange County Disability Awareness <br /> Council is sponsoring its Annual Awards Luncheon. The luncheon will be held on <br /> Friday, October 13, 1995, 12:00 noon, at the Holiday Inn, in Chapel Hill. This ceremony <br /> will recognize individuals who have demonstrated exceptional service to the disabled <br /> community. The awards will include: Disabled Citizen of the Year; Employer of the <br /> Year; Distinguished Service; and Media Award. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the <br /> proclamation and authorize the Chair to sign. <br />
