Classification and Pay Plan Maintenance Study <br /> - Adopting the recommended class and salary grade changes listed in Attachment 1. <br /> 2. Board of Elections Office- <br /> - Changing the title of Elections Supervisor to Director of Elections and <br /> - Changing the title of the Deputy Supervisor to Deputy Director of Elections and <br /> changing the salary grade from 62 to 63. <br /> BACKGROUND: The background leading to the recommended changes in the Orange County Classification <br /> and Pay Plan is as follows: <br /> 1. Classification and Pay Plan Maintenance <br /> In keeping with the County's efforts to maintain the position classification and pay plan <br /> internally, Personnel has undertaken a series of classification and pay studies. These studies <br /> include scheduled classification reviews of individual positions and/or groups of positions and <br /> periodic assessment of labor market comparisons through salary surveys. <br /> The Personnel Department currently has completed the scheduled classification review of the <br /> occupational group of positions which includes planning, inspections,erosion control, <br /> environmental health,soil and water and related positions. This review is the first in the <br /> series of four studies that are currently scheduled. The classification review included the <br /> following steps: <br /> - Completing a salary survey to assess labor market comparisons. <br />
