Lindsay is an exceptionally fine flutist and a wonderful <br /> communicator. We are exceedingly fortunate that she is residing in Orange County. I have <br /> known her playing for several years and feel she is on the cusp of establishing herself as a major <br /> artist. She has much to give to communities within the county,both to seasoned classical music <br /> lovers and to those for whom classical music is rather unfamiliar. Her proposal to present <br /> concerts featuring chamber music of Hugo Kauder is of great interest, especially as Kauder is not <br /> well-known. Dr. Leach also proposes a CD that highlights this literature in a lasting medium that <br /> bears repeated listening and study. At a time when many artists are presenting reworking of <br /> familiar music,her project stands out as a refreshing and important window to a wider <br /> knowledge of composers contributing to our cultural heritage. <br /> As a self-directed and highly-organized musician,Dr. Leach has both the vision and the <br /> necessary follow-through to contribute substantially to the objectives of the Orange County Arts <br /> Commission.
