My earlier works dwelled on the mutual
dependency between man and animal,or the interaction between animals and their unique humor. I searched for the
pregnant moments which inform and delight.
Now, surrealism has lost its glow or perhaps I am now freed from my past. In my future life, I have chosen a
path into an abstract world. It continues the"art" challenge to see and think of subject matter, color and
composition in a totally different way than previously. It frees my hand from the former intricate
painting. My aim, however, has always been to bring joy or comfort to the viewer and perhaps myself.
These new abstract paintings are closely tied to our environment. I use color in pleasant patterns to evoke
light and a mood. As Hans Hoffman said, `In nature light creates the color. In the picture, color
creates the light. " This is what I'm attempting to do in my most recent abstract paintings and
monoprints.
Contact:
Louise Francke
3200 Elizabeth Walters Rd
Efland, NC 27243
919-563-0330 (email preferred)
11/10/2014
