I use photography as a tool
to communicate the beauty and importance--ecological, recreational
and historical--in order to increase public awareness about the need to preserve such
natural treasures.
Photography is also an art form that I use to portray people, places and events. There is
beauty at every turn in the trail, creels or road that we follow through life if we simply
take the time to look and listen. I am particularly fond of abstract patterns including the
shapes, textures and colors of wild flowers and trees in different seasons. Reflections in
streams and ponds created by wind and current are also fascinating. Reflections
continually change as if viewing life through a kaleidoscope. Photography is visual
poetry, a medium to express the rhythms, patterns, textures and colors of nature in visual
form. Photography can similarly be used to portray significant events and patterns in
the lives of families and communities. People and places are both important in my
I
camera's eye!
Copyright©2011 David Otto.All Rights Reserved.
Webmaster d ivid(rldiids-clesian.ccm
http://www.daveottophotography.com/Dave Otto Photography/Artist.html 11/18/2014
