During 2013, The ArtsCenter provided 93,000 arts experiences, including <br /> nearly 30,000 to youth under 18. Our work created a local economic impact estimated <br /> at $3,488,830. <br /> Mission: The ArtsCenter exists in order to inspire artistic creativity and to enrich the <br /> lives of people of all ages. <br /> Guiding Values: Sustainability; Excellence; Accountability; and Inclusivity. <br /> Current Programs and Services <br /> ArtSchool. ArtSchool at The ArtsCenter is Orange County's most comprehensive non- <br /> profit resource for continuing education in the arts on a non-degree, community basis. <br /> The ArtSchool now offers more than 500 classes in all artistic disciplines for all <br /> experience levels and ages, awards more than 20 scholarships annually, and offers <br /> work-study opportunities. <br /> School, Family & Youth Programs. The ArtsCenter has provided artistically excellent, <br /> age-appropriate and accessible arts experiences to Triangle families for more than 30 <br /> years. Currently, The ArtsCenter offers the School Show Series with over 70 <br /> performances in schools as well as field trip opportunities at The ArtsCenter; curriculum- <br /> based art workshops in all four area Title-I schools through the Artist Residency <br /> program; the SuperFun Series of performances for family audiences; ArtsCamp in the <br /> summer, and AfterSchool Arts Immersion during the school year. In addition, Youth <br /> Arts classes offer fine art classes and workshops in acting, musical theatre, dance, <br /> chorus, stage combat, radio drama, acting for the camera, and improv. Combined, The <br /> ArtsCenter's youth programs reach approximately 26,000 children each year. <br /> Theatre. International theatre at its most local, ArtsCenter Stage showcases the work of <br /> emerging and established artists hailing from next door to around the world. ArtsCenter <br /> Stage features new works with a historical perspective, while its second-stage series <br /> includes improvisation and storytelling, musicals and operas, stand-up comedy and film <br /> screenings, new works in development and theatre for younger and older audiences. <br /> ArtsCenter Stage is community-oriented theatre with a commitment to developing new <br /> artists and audiences. <br /> Concerts. The ArtsCenter presents approximately 60 concerts for adults each year, <br /> representing the spectrum of musical genres by local, emerging, and nationally touring <br /> artists including folk, blues, Celtic, singer-songwriter, roots, and bluegrass. <br /> Gallery. The Nicholson Gallery features the work of local and regional artists on a <br /> rotating basis and highlights the work of more than 100 local and regional artists in 12 <br /> exhibitions a year. The new Emerging Artist series highlights talented local artists who <br /> are just starting out in their careers and features a new artist each month in dedicated <br /> gallery space. <br />
