2 <br />Clarion Associates will be meeting with ELABs throughout March to present respective <br />Elements of the first draft of the Comprehensive Plan and initiate the review process. <br />Element Lead Advisory Boards (FLAB) and Staff -Upon receipt of the first draft <br />Comprehensive Plan, ELABs and staff will be reviewing the draft text, including objectives, <br />and collecting comments to be forwarded to the Consultant by April 14tH so that revisions can <br />be made and reflected in the public hearing draft. Advisory boards will also have the <br />opportunity to provide comments on the public hearing draft when it becomes available in <br />early-May. <br />Upcoming Public Input -The following meetings have been scheduled for public input on the <br />draft Comprehensive Plan before the formal Joint BOCC/Planning Board Public Hearing is <br />held on May 19tH: <br />Open House <br />April 3, 2008, 3:00-7:OOPM, <br />Planning and Agricultural Center, "Food-Lab" <br />306-F Revere Rd., Hillsborough <br />Countywide Meeting (April 9th and April 23rd meetings will be identical in content and <br />format) <br />April 9, 2008, 7:00-9:00 PM <br />Southern Human Services Center <br />2501 Homestead Rd., Chapel Hill <br />Countywide Meeting (April 9th and April 23rd meetings will be identical in content and <br />format) <br />April 23, 2008, 7:00-9:00 PM <br />Exchange ~ Clubhouse <br />331 Exchange Park Ln., Hillsborough <br />BOCC -Planning Staff and Consultant will provide their next report to the BOCC at its May <br />1St meeting. The BOCC will also consider approving the Legal Ad for the May 19, 2008 <br />Quarterly Public Hearing, which will include the draft Comprehensive Plan, at that time. <br />Website - http://www.co.orange.nc.us/planning/compre_cpupdate.asp <br />Numerous items have been added to the Comprehensive Plan Update website. A few <br />examples include: StafFs Summary Report of the January 28th Public Input Session; notices <br />of upcoming advisory board meetings; and notices of all upcoming. public input meetings. <br />The website continues to be an excellent source of information, which the public is <br />.encouraged to use. <br />SPECIAL NOTE: At the end of the meeting, the Clerk will distribute a courtesy copy of the first <br />draft of the Comprehensive Plan to the Board. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no direct fiscal impact associated with this report. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board receive this information. <br />
