Theater <br /> artists working with ArtsCenter Stage are given the chance to expand and strengthen their <br /> abilities, gain new insights and push the boundaries of their respective field. In addition to <br /> gaining new ground in their areas, the following four production theater artists will provide new <br /> insights, collaborate on a shared artistic vision and teach new skills to the entire company of Oh <br /> What a Lovely War. <br /> Stage Manager Devon Abdo is an emerging performance techie in the Triangle. A graduate of <br /> UNC-Chapel Hill, she lives in Carrboro, NC and has worked as a stage manager and lighting <br /> designer in the Triangle area for six years including such places as Carolina Performing Arts, <br /> UNC Communication Studies Department, Manbites Dog Theater and The ArtsCenter. <br /> Joseph Amodei, a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, is a video/performance/installation artist and <br /> theatrical designer living and working in Chapel Hill, NC. His work often explores themes of <br /> technology, ritual, public space and language—with the ever-present aim of(re)contextualizing <br /> the present in order to provoke thought about the under and overlooked. Joseph has been <br /> awarded residencies at the Penland School of Craft in Spruce Pine, NC, Talct A.I.R in Berlin, <br /> Germany, participated in group exhibitions in Berlin, Germany, Ghent, Belgium, Richmond, VA, <br /> among many others including galleries and museums in North Carolina. <br /> Costumer Marissa Erickson is a Carrboro-based, self-taught seamstress embarking on her <br /> costume design career. Her work includes costume design for Into the Breach with ArtsCenter <br /> Stage, the initial and encore productions of Manbites Dog Theater's Best of Enemies, ArtsCenter <br /> Stage's Gem of the Ocean, costuming/ props for the project and production of Sweet Tea: Black <br /> Gay Men of the South at the Durham Arts Council, assistant costuming design for the Little <br /> Green Pig production of Our Town, and costume design for the SLIPPAGE/Wideman-Davis <br /> production of CANE. Upcoming costuming projects include All is Calm and Freight: the Five <br /> Incarnations of Abel Green. <br /> Chapel Hill-based choreographer Killian Manning has been malting dances for over 30 years. As <br /> Artistic Director of No Forwarding Address, she has received funding from numerous state and <br /> local arts agencies and presented her award-winning choreography in Salt Lake City, Boston, <br /> Chicago, Birmingham, and North Carolina. She has served on the dance faculties at UNC- <br /> Chapel Hill, Radcliffe, the Boston Conservatory, Repertory Dance Theater, and Samford <br /> University, and currently teaches at The Ballet School of Chapel Hill. Most recently she has <br /> been making new work at Durham Academy and the Carolina Friends School, and <br /> choreographing for Summer Glee at UNC Chapel-Hill. Her latest piece, Lines:the delicacy of <br /> endurance is premiering at The Carrack Modern Art gallery in November 2014. <br /> An Arts Program Grant for $1,500 from the Orange County Arts Commission will provide <br /> stipends for these four Orange-County based theater artists collaborating on Oh What a Lovely <br /> War. The skills and expertise they bring from their various fields will contribute to a most <br /> extraordinary theatrical event. <br />
