These are submitted to give
you an idea of the quality of Susan's work and her serious commitment as an
emerging exhibition artist.
Enclosed photo files from Barbara Tyroler's portfolio are samples of previous
exhibitions with collaged interactive environmental portraiture:
"Getting Layered"was an exhibition of composited portraits integrating the
artwork of 5 women artists with the photographic portraits created specifically for
this project. Each portrait was presented on cotton rag paper, sized 16 x20 with
archival pigment ink.
In the Beijing series,Tyroler used imagery from her Beijing collection rather
than creating and embellishing on portraits of the artists themselves. The
collaborating paper collage artist embellished on Beijing series using additional
layers of paint and hand made paper.
The Elon Faculty project consisted of collaged portraits made of the College
of Education Faculty at Elon University. Each professor was instructed to find a
special place on campus and an object that would be incorporated into their
portrait. They responded through text and verbal narrative about their love for
teaching.
The Bee Keeper portrait is a collaged interactive portrait produced in the
same fashion.
