From <br />the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati to audiences across America, <br />this accessible production has received nation -wide acclaim. <br />Heroes of the Underground Railroad is an inspiring exploration of the lives and work of <br />notable Abolitionists and slaves from America's Underground Railroad. The show provides a <br />fundamental historical context of the time period while recreating the lives and work of several <br />prominent and nearly forgotten heroes. Harriet Tubman, Levi Coffin, Henry `Box' Brown, John <br />Parker and Frederick Douglass are just some of the figures brought to life within this 45- minute <br />show. The play sheds light on everything from secret messages along the routes to music from <br />the period. <br />Heroes of the Underground Railroad seeks to inspire young audiences with the stories of <br />everyday Americans who stood up for their beliefs and worked to make our world a better place. <br />This show is best appreciated by grades 2nd through adult. <br />Bright Star Touring Theatre serves more than 650 audiences annually with a variety of <br />programs ranging from Frederick Douglass to Aesop's Fables.
