5 <br /> Relevant Zoning Ordinance Provisions <br /> There are several uses and provisions in the Zoning <br /> Ordinance which relate to the storage, repair or <br /> salvage of automobiles. <br /> Junkyard - An establishment operated or maintained for <br /> the purpose of storing, dismantling, salvaging, buying <br /> or selling scrap or used. . . .vehicles. . . <br /> Junkyards are allowed in some zoning districts as a <br /> Class A Special Use, but are not allowed at all in the <br /> EC-5 Zoning District. <br /> Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair - An establishment <br /> where the following services are available: <br /> (a) body work, <br /> (b) straightening of body parts, <br /> (c) painting, <br /> (d) welding, <br /> (e) storage of motor vehicles not in operating <br /> condition <br /> Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair establishments <br /> (body shops) allowed by right in the EC-5 zoning <br /> district. <br /> Motor Vehicle Service Station - An establishment where <br /> gasoline, diesel oil and/or other fuel for internal <br /> combustion engines is supplied and dispersed at retail, <br /> and where, in addition, the following services may be <br /> rendered and sales made and no other: <br /> Sales and services of spark plugs, batteries <br /> and/or distributors and ignition system parts, <br /> sales servicing and repair of tires, but not <br /> recapping or regrooving; replacement of mufflers, <br /> tailpipes, water hoses; . . . . . minor motor <br /> adjustments not involving removal of the head of <br /> crankcase; sales of beverages, package foods, <br /> tobacco products and similar convenience goods <br /> A•service station is not a repair ara a nor a <br /> 9 9' <br /> body shop. Uses permissible at a service station <br /> do not include major mechanical and body work, <br /> straightening or body parts, painting, welding, <br /> storage of automobiles or trucks not in operating <br /> condition or other operation involving noise, <br /> glare, smoke, fumes or other characteristics to an <br /> extent greater than normally found in service <br /> stations. <br />
