Orange County <br /> Budget Ordinance Amendment#1 2 / <br /> Fiscal Year 1995-96 <br /> Sheriffs Department <br /> 4. The Orange County Sheriffs Department recently received drug tax payments from the State totalling <br /> $32,512. According to State Statutes,these forfeitures must be used for drug law enforcement or <br /> additional equipment purchases. The Sheriff plans to use a portion of these funds, $5,200,to purchase <br /> additional weapons for his staff. The use of the balance of these funds has not yet been determined by the <br /> Sheriff. (see block#4,page 3). <br /> Recommendation <br /> The Manager recommends that the Board approve the attached budget ordinance amendments and grant project <br /> ordinances. <br />
