r°tint! a/ 0 <br /> Z ' <br /> ii.Tj <br /> it �'a <br /> r` • <br /> rim <br /> +ion/h t�l°�c <br /> HUMAN RELATIONS COMMISSION <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> NORTH CAROLINA <br /> A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE SECOND LA FIESTA DEL PUEBLO IN <br /> CHAPEL HILL ON SEPTEMBER 9 AND 10 , 1995 <br /> WHEREAS , about 1.50 ,000 Americans of Hispanic heritage live in <br /> North Carolina ; and <br /> WHEREAS , His ;I icans participate in all aspects of the <br /> economic , cultural and social life of they Orange County <br /> community ; and <br /> WHEREAS , the Latin American community richly contributes to <br /> the cultural and social diversity that help make the Orange <br /> County community an excellent place to live ; and <br /> WHEREAS , there is a need for a greater sense of community <br /> among all citizens , including Latin American citizens , and <br /> for increased communication with health , social services and <br /> other community service agencies; and <br /> WHEREAS , the Fiesta del Pueblo will include the North <br /> Carolina Hispanic soccer league finals , Latin American <br /> dances . music , foods , arts , crafts , sports , and chi l&4-:.n 's <br /> games to be enjoyed by everyone who attends; and <br /> WHEREAS , last year 's first Latin American festival in Chapel <br /> Hill was very successful , attracting over 5 ,000 visitors , <br /> NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners that the Board hereby expresses its strong <br /> support of the second "La Fiesta del Pueblo" celebration at <br /> Lincoln Center , Merritt Mill Road , on the weekend of <br /> September 9th and 10th , and encourages all citizens to attend <br /> and participate in the f=estivities . <br /> This the Sth day of September , 1995 . <br /> Moses Carey , Jr . , Chairman <br /> P.O.
