4 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY ZONING ORDINANCE TEXT AMENDMENTS <br /> 1. Amend SECTION 3.2 (Landscape Design) of the ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTS <br /> DESIGN MANUAL to eliminate or reduce the requirement for a 100'buffer around the boundary <br /> of an Economic Development District in the following instances: where the district boundary is a <br /> jurisdictional boundary only, and the Economic Development District Design Manual has been <br /> adopted by the neighboring jurisdiction; or where the boundary is formed by a road classified as <br /> a major arterial highway. The Economic Development Districts Design Manual is incorporated by <br /> reference in Article 6.29.3 of the Orange County Zoning Ordinance. <br /> 2. Amend ARTICLE 12.3 - LANDSCAPING AND BUFFER REQUIREMENTS (Plan Review and <br /> Approval) to specify that security for landscaping requirements will include installation costs and <br /> that no portion of the letter of credit will be released until all planting is complete. <br /> ORANGE COUNTY SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS TEXT AMENDMENTS <br /> 1. Amend SECTION IV-B-8-LANDSCAPING AND BUFFER REQUIREMENTS (Landscape Plan <br /> Review and Approval)to specify that security for landscaping requirements will include installation <br /> costs and that no portion of the letter of credit will be released until all planting is complete. <br /> ORANGE COUNTY FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION ORDINANCE <br /> 1. REPLACE the Orange County Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance to change various sections as <br /> needed to provide consistency in format and content with the current model ordinance containing <br /> requirements of the Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA). Changes in content of the <br /> ordinance include several new definitions, revision of various technical requirements relating to <br /> elevating and/or floodproofmg existing or new structures located within a floodplain,and of revision <br /> plat plan requirements. <br /> The specific text amendments proposed as described in this notice are available for public inspection at the <br /> Orange County Planning Department. <br /> All interested citizens are invited to attend this hearing and be heard. Public comment will be received <br /> during the public hearing. Following the close of the public hearing, only evidence received in writing by <br /> the date of the Planning Board meeting following the public hearing will be considered by the Board of <br /> Commissioners for decision. <br /> Changes may be made in the advertised proposals which reflect debate, objections and discussion at the <br /> hearing. <br /> Questions regarding the proposals may be directed to the Orange County Planning Department located <br /> in the Planning and Agricultural Center, 306F Revere Road, Hillsborough, North Carolina.
