V 2 Violence Prevention - School Resources Grant Project Ordinance Project Number 11-712 Be it ordained by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners that pursuant to Section 13.2 of Chapter 159 of the General Statutes of North Carolina,the following grant project is hereby adopted. Section 1. The project authorized is the Violence Prevention-School Resources Program as awarded to the Orange County Sheriffs Department by the Drug Control and System Improvement grant. The primary purpose of this program is to stabilize the school community,using resource officers(deputies)to implement violence prevention strategies. The mission of the program will be to establish local law enforcement as an active prevention resource in addition to its role as a responsive enforcement agency. Section 2. The officers of the County are hereby directed to proceed with the grant project within the grant document, the rules and regulations of the Drug Control and System Improvement grant and the budget contained herein. Section 3. The following revenue is anticipated to be available to complete this project: Intergovernmental(1994-95) $76,614 Intergovernmental(1995-96) 104,504 Total Revenue $181,118 Section 4. Seventy five percent of the total cost of this project is funded by grant funds. The required match for this grant is'included in the Sheriffs Department General Fund operating budget. General Fund Operating Match (1994-95) $25,538 General Fund Operating Match (1995-96) 21.747 Total General Fund Match $47,285 Section 5. The following amount is appropriated for this project: Public Safety (1994-95) $102,152 Public Safety (1995-96) S126,251 Total Appropriation $228,403 Section 6. The finance officer is hereby directed to maintain within the Grant Project sufficient specific detailed accounting records to provide the accounting to the grantor agency required by the grant agreement and federal and state regulations. Section 7. Funds may be advanced from the General Fund for the purpose of making payments due. Reimbursement requests should be made to the grantor agency in an orderly and timely manner. Section 8. Copies of this grant project ordinance shall be made available to the finance officer for direction in carrying out this project. Section 9. Positions authorized through this grant project ordinance include: 3.00 Full-Time Equivalent Deputy I positions 0.50 Full-Time Equivalent Social Worker These positions are authorized through June 30, 1996. Subsequent funding in future years is contingent upon the availability of grant funds.
