V <br /> 2 <br /> Violence Prevention - School Resources <br /> Grant Project Ordinance <br /> Project Number 11-712 <br /> Be it ordained by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners that pursuant to Section 13.2 of Chapter 159 <br /> of the General Statutes of North Carolina,the following grant project is hereby adopted. <br /> Section 1. The project authorized is the Violence Prevention-School Resources Program as awarded to the Orange <br /> County Sheriffs Department by the Drug Control and System Improvement grant. The primary purpose <br /> of this program is to stabilize the school community,using resource officers(deputies)to implement violence <br /> prevention strategies. The mission of the program will be to establish local law enforcement as an active <br /> prevention resource in addition to its role as a responsive enforcement agency. <br /> Section 2. The officers of the County are hereby directed to proceed with the grant project within the grant document, <br /> the rules and regulations of the Drug Control and System Improvement grant and the budget contained <br /> herein. <br /> Section 3. The following revenue is anticipated to be available to complete this project: <br /> Intergovernmental(1994-95) $76,614 <br /> Intergovernmental(1995-96) 104,504 <br /> Total Revenue $181,118 <br /> Section 4. Seventy five percent of the total cost of this project is funded by grant funds. The required match for this <br /> grant is'included in the Sheriffs Department General Fund operating budget. <br /> General Fund Operating Match (1994-95) $25,538 <br /> General Fund Operating Match (1995-96) 21.747 <br /> Total General Fund Match $47,285 <br /> Section 5. The following amount is appropriated for this project: <br /> Public Safety (1994-95) $102,152 <br /> Public Safety (1995-96) S126,251 <br /> Total Appropriation $228,403 <br /> Section 6. The finance officer is hereby directed to maintain within the Grant Project sufficient specific detailed <br /> accounting records to provide the accounting to the grantor agency required by the grant agreement <br /> and federal and state regulations. <br /> Section 7. Funds may be advanced from the General Fund for the purpose of making payments due. Reimbursement <br /> requests should be made to the grantor agency in an orderly and timely manner. <br /> Section 8. Copies of this grant project ordinance shall be made available to the finance officer for direction in carrying <br /> out this project. <br /> Section 9. Positions authorized through this grant project ordinance include: <br /> 3.00 Full-Time Equivalent Deputy I positions <br /> 0.50 Full-Time Equivalent Social Worker <br /> These positions are authorized through June 30, 1996. Subsequent funding in future years is contingent <br /> upon the availability of grant funds. <br />
