d) Town/County/NCDOT Meetings Regarding Downtown Hillsborough Traffic <br />The Town of Hillsborough and Orange County have met with North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation (NCDOT) officials twice over the last month to review and suggest <br />enhancements to the traffic signal timing, traffic signs, and traffic turning movement systems. <br />This is done both in consideration of existing traffic capacity conditions as well as the impending <br />opening of new County office space facilities. <br />In addition, some critical intersection areas encumbered by on-street parking were discussed <br />along with the upcoming opportunities for more public parking on the new parking deck and the <br />ongoing re-analysis of the traffic study that is part of the Gateway project. <br />All meeting participants understand the need to continue to monitor the conditions as new <br />development unfolds and to analyze existing or suggested connectivity in parallel off-street <br />parking arrangements access patterns. <br />Staff will provide any other information at the meeting, and the Boards can discuss this item as <br />necessary. <br />No Attachments <br />e) US 70/Cornelius Street Business Incubator Funding Assistance Request <br />As part of follow-up efforts related to the US 70- Cornelius Street Corridor activities, Orange <br />County pursued funding last year through Congressman David Price for a service and retail <br />business incubator proposed for the corridor. Orange County has tentatively planned to move <br />forward again this year with Congressman Price with a similar request. An incubator would <br />provide shared space for new and expanding businesses. <br />Staff will provide any other information at the meeting, and the Boards can discuss this item as <br />necessary. <br />Attachment 6 — e — DRAFT Service /Retail Business Incubator Appropriations Application <br />for Proposed Submittal to Congressman David Price <br />f) Possible Reassignment of Elizabeth Brady Road Funding Without Loss of <br />Project Funds <br />A question was recently raised regarding the possible reassignment of Elizabeth Brady Road <br />funding to address other needs without, losing those funds for the Elizabeth Brady Road project. <br />The Boards' members can share any additional information at the meeting, and the Boards can <br />discuss this item as necessary. <br />No Attachments <br />7.
