APPROVED 12/9/2014 MINUTES BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS REGULAR MEETING October 21, 2014 7:00 p.m. The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Southern Human Services Center, in Chapel Hill, N.C. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Jacobs and Commissioners Mark Dorosin, Alice M. Gordon, Earl McKee, Bernadette Pelissier, Renee Price and Penny Rich COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley, Assistant County Managers Clarence Grier, Cheryl Young and Clerk to the Board Donna Baker (All other staff members will be identified appropriately below) NOTE: ALL DOCUMENTS REFERRED TO IN THESE MINUTES ARE IN THE PERMANENT AGENDA FILE IN THE CLERK'S OFFICE. Chair Jacobs call the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. 1. Additions or Chanqes to the Aqenda Chair Jacobs reviewed the following list of items at the Commissioner's places: - PowerPoint— Item 7C -Central and Rural Orange County Five-Year Bus Service Expansion Program — Orange Public Transportation - PowerPoint - Item 7D- Major Subdivision Preliminary Plat Application — Pleasant Green Woods Phase IV - PowerPoint - Item 7E- Major Subdivision Preliminary Plat Application — Stroud's Creek PUBLIC CHARGE The Chair dispensed with the reading of the public charge. 2. Public Comments a. Matters not on the Printed Aqenda Don O'Leary said he wanted to give some words of encouragement about what can be done about fluoride. He read a portion of a document from the state assembly, and he said the Board of County Commissioners has authority over water departments and can revoke their licensing if they put drugs like fluoride in the water. b. Matters on the Printed Agenda (These matters will be considered when the Board addresses that item on the agenda below.) 3. Petitions by Board Members
