RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF BUILDERS' SUPPLY AND LUMBER <br /> USING NCDOT RAIL INDUSTRIAL ACCESS FUNDS FOR THE <br /> ESTABLISHMENT OF AN INDUSTRIAL FACILITY IN ORANGE COUNTY <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County supports business and industrial development in appropriately <br /> zoned locations throughout the County; and <br /> WHEREAS, Builders' Supply and Lumber proposes to develop a 21.5 acre tract of land along E. <br /> Washington Street in Mebane's ETJ as a manufacturing and distribution facility that will employ <br /> approximately 100 people and invest at least $5,000,000 in buildings, land, and equipment; and <br /> WHEREAS, on June 2, 1995, the NC Dept of Transportation Board approved a request for a <br /> maximum of$80,587.50 of Rail Industrial Access Funds to pay for up to 50% of Builders' Supply <br /> and Lumber's projected expense for serving their Mebane site with a rail spur; and <br /> WHEREAS, Builders' Supply and Lumber will pay the remaining portion(50%) of this rail <br /> access project costs to serve their site; and <br /> WHEREAS, Orange County will not be responsible for any costs associated with providing rail <br /> to this proposed site for Builders' Supply and Lumber. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Orange County Board of Commissioners <br /> support this project in principle, and authorize Builders' Supply and Lumber Company, <br /> Incorporated to enter into a contract with the NC Department of Transportation and execute all <br /> agreements and contracts with the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Rail Division. <br /> ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ <br /> I, Beverly Blythe, Orange County Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, do hereby certify <br /> that the above is a true and correct copy of an excerpt for the minutes of a meeting of the Orange <br /> County Board of County Commissioners duly held on the 26th day of June, 1995. <br /> Beverly Blythe, range Cou Clerk of the County Commissioners <br /> Subscribed and sworn to me this 9 day of OU &Z� 19?5 <br /> Notary Seal <br /> �-.-,....-,,,,,,.,...�..,......�-�.....� ....,,.... otary Public <br /> Not.w Nhiic I1:w 'no <br /> EVELrry ;,4y co ssion expires �D /3 1 �/ address 3 3 � <br /> My Commission rWr* <br />
