2 <br /> The total anticipated project cost is about $60,000 higher than projected in the 1995-2000 Capital <br /> Improvements Plan,due in large part to the generally unfavorable construction market at this time. Sufficient <br /> funds are available in the CIP to complete construction and implementation of the Saddle Club Road site. <br /> However,if the County accepts this bid,there would not be sufficient 1995-96 funds remaining to construct any <br /> further solid waste convenience centers,without reallocation of funds from other projects. <br /> Staff will be sharing the bid results with the Orange County Solid Waste Committee at its June 22 meeting. <br /> Comments from the Solid Waste Committee will be related to the Board of Commissioners at the June 26 <br /> meeting. It may be prudent to postpone a decision to award the Saddle Club Road construction bid until the <br /> August 3 meeting to allow staff to consider Solid Waste Committee and Commissioner comments in evaluation <br /> our options for proceeding with the solid waste convenience center program. Construction bids received on <br /> June 13 are valid for 60 days,so delay of the bid award decision to August 3 is an available option. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board postpone a bid award decision until <br /> August 3,and provide staff with comments about the bids for the Saddle Club Road site. <br />
