6 <br /> COPS FAST Program ' <br /> Grant Project Ordinance <br /> Project Number 11-714 <br /> Be it ordained by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners that pursuant to Section 13.2 of Chapter 159 <br /> of the General Statutes of North Carolina,the following grant project is hereby adopted. <br /> Section 1. The project authorized is the COPS FAST Program as awarded to the Orange County Sheriffs Depart <br /> by the U.S. Department of Justice,Community Oriented Policing Services. The three year grant provi <br /> funding to enhance community oriented police efforts in jurisdictions with populations of less than 50, <br /> Section 2. Under the terms of the agreement,Orange County will administer the grant as fiscal agent. The officer <br /> of the County are hereby directed to proceed with the grant project within the grant document,the rule <br /> and regulations of the U.S. Department of Justice,Community Oriented Policing Services . <br /> Section 3. The following revenue is anticipated to be available to complete this project: <br /> Intergovernmental(1995-96) $25,108 <br /> Intergovernmental(1996-97) 25,108 <br /> Intergovernmental(1997-98) 24.784 <br /> Total Intergovernmental $_75 <br /> Section 4. Approximately seventy five percent of the total cost of this project is funded by grant funds. The requ <br /> match for this grant is included in the Sheriffs Department General Fund operating budget. for fiscal y <br /> 1995-96. Future years'allocations are subject to Board of County Commissioners annual appropriatio <br /> General Fund Operating Match (1995-96) $8,369 <br /> General Fund Operating Match (1997-98) 9,750 <br /> General Fund Operating Match (1998-99) 10,904 <br /> Total General Fund Match <br /> Section 5. The following amount is appropriated for this project: <br /> Public Safety-COPSFAST <br /> Section 6. The finance officer is hereby directed to maintain within the Grant Project sufficient specific detailed <br /> accounting records to provide the accounting to the grantor agency required by the grant agreement <br /> and federal and state regulations. <br /> Section 7. Funds may be advanced from the General Fund for the purpose of making payments due. <br /> Reimbursement requests should be made to the grantor agency in an orderly and timely manner. <br /> Section 8. Copies of this grant project ordinance shall be made available to the finance officer for direction in <br /> carrying out this project. <br /> Section 9. Positions authorized through this grant project ordinance include: <br /> 1.00 Full-Time Equivalent Deputy Sheriff I <br /> This position is authorized through February 28, 1998. <br /> Section 10.
