We are mandated by State law to provide medical <br /> care for any inmate in the custody of the Orange County Jail. <br /> Orange Family Medical Group will renew the contract through June 30,1996 at the rate of$16,500 per <br /> year.A copy of the terms and conditions as approved by the Board in July,1989 is attached for your <br /> information. This method of service delivery to inmates continues to be the most economical and <br /> efficient means of providing the service required. <br /> The County will continue to be invoiced separately for testing and x-rays required as treatment for the <br /> inmate. Historically,the costs for these services have been$2,000-$3,000 per year. The fee schedule <br /> will remain at the 1995 rate and is attached for your information. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board approve the renewal of the Jail Medical <br /> Services contract with Orange Family Medical Group through June 30,1996 for a sum of$16,500 per <br /> year,and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />
