The Chamber of <br /> Commerce has since that time,subleased the downstairs area to the Alliance for Historic Hillsborough, <br /> who now operates the Visitor's Center. The Chamber offices are located upstairs. <br /> The recommended lease renewal includes the following modifications: <br /> 1. The lease term shall be from July 1,1995 through June 30,1998;and <br /> 2. The Chamber will be responsible for all grounds maintenance (previously they <br /> maintained only the area known as"Helen's Garden"). <br /> Rent will continue to be assessed at$125 per month. <br /> As a reminder, the lease dictates that the County maintain the exterior of the building and major <br /> systems within the building(heatlair/electricallplumbing)and the Chamber maintains the interior of the <br /> building,including cleaning. <br /> The Advisory Committee, which was established in the lease to oversee certain areas associated with <br /> the building and its operation,has reviewed the lease renewal terms and conditions and have approved <br /> them as presented. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board approve the lease renewal with the <br /> Hillsborough Chamber of Commerce,through June 30,1998; and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf <br /> of the Board. <br />
