Since the Literary Hall of Fame was formally established in <br />May 1996, five individuals with significant ties to Orange County have been recognized. <br />Jaki SheltonGreen, Allan Gurganus, Louis D. Rubin, Jr., Lee Smith, and Elizabeth Spencer <br />have all been selected as inducteesinto the North Carolina Literary Hall of Fame. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: <br />None <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): <br /> The Manager recommends that the Board approve and authorize <br />the Chair to sign the attached resolutionsrecognizingJaki Shelton Green, Allan Gurganus, <br />Louis D. Rubin, Jr., Lee Smith, and Elizabeth Spencerfor their induction into the North Carolina <br />Literary Hall of Fame. <br /> <br />
