While still with HCCS, I became president of a Texas Gerontological <br />consortium that offered a basic certificate in gerontology. Later I taught public health courses to <br />nursing students, including a component on the aging. I returned to North Carolina when my <br />husband decided to retire. <br />Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br />I would like to be more involved with issues affecting older adults and hope that both my <br />professional background and my experience as an over -55 adult can be of service. Since <br />returning to North Carolina, l have been primarily involved in working with the arts community <br />through the artists guild and the arts commission.
