• No sign shall be located in such a manner as to block visibility at any street or driveway <br />intersection. <br />• No sign shall be erected or connected to any of the following: utility poles, street signs, <br />highway control/informational signs (i.e. speed limit signs, stop signs, etc), or other <br />similar regulated freestanding or wall signed as outlined within Article Nine (9) Signs of <br />the Orange County Zoning Ordinance. <br />Time Limitations <br />• Signs must be removed within seven (7)' days after the election or conclusion of the <br />campaign. <br />• In the case of a second or subsequent primary, signs must be removed seven (7) days <br />after the concluding election. <br />Enforcement <br />• We ask that each candidate educate his or her staff on these rules to avoid unnecessary <br />problems concerning the placement and maintenance of political signs, <br />® The Zoning Enforcement Officer, as a courtesy, shall contact a candidates' campaign <br />office in the event of an initial violation to obtain a resolution and bring the offending <br />sign(s) into compliance. If future violations are discovered, staff will remove the <br />offending sign in accordance with the provisions of Articles Nine (9) and Twenty-three <br />(23) of the Orange County Zoning Ordinance, <br />® Any sign that poses a potential driving or other public safety hazards shall be remove <br />by the Zoning Enforcement Officer immediately. <br />Please call the Orange County Planning Department at 919-245-2575 should you <br />require further assistance regarding maps, right-of-way and the specifics of the <br />Zoning Ordinance. <br />NOTE. A copy of the appropriate State Statutes is available from the Board of Elections and is <br />distributed to each candidate upon filing for any election. These laws apply specifically to <br />signs located within public rights-of-way or on public property.
