• ORANGE COUNTY PLANNING DEPARTMENT 17 <br /> 306F REVERE ROAD <br /> HILLSBOROUGH, NORTH CAROLINA 27278 <br /> STAFF EVALUATION OF PRIVATE ROAD JUSTIFICATION <br /> SUBDIVISION: Stone Knoll Subdivision - Preliminary Plan <br /> DATE: May 8, 1995 <br /> The standards contained in the Subdivision Regulations <br /> pertaining to public and private roads are listed below as <br /> amended 8/8/94 . The Planning Staff comment regarding each is <br /> provided in italics. <br /> IV-13-3-d-1. Roads - Public roads are generally required in <br /> all subdivisions and will be required where it <br /> is found that: <br /> 1. The subdivision roads would be accepted by <br /> the State for maintenance if: <br /> a. They are built in a manner which satis- <br /> fies the minimum State design and <br /> construction criteria for subdivision <br /> roads; and <br /> (Russell 's Ford does not meet the State's <br /> standard for minimum curve radius.) <br /> b. They would satisfy other requirements <br /> for addition to the State maintenance <br /> system, including, but not limited to, <br /> the general density standard of at <br /> least two occupied residences for each <br /> one-tenth of a mile of subdivision <br /> road; or <br /> (Russell 's Ford would be considered a Subdivi- <br /> sion Access Road and must provide ingress and <br /> egress for at least five [5] occupied residen- <br /> ces in order to meet the State's density <br /> requirement. When lot 10 is developed, there <br /> will be eight (8) occupied residences using <br /> Russell 's Ford.) <br /> 2. The subdivision roads extend existing <br /> roads which are public; or <br /> (Not applicable.) <br />
