1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. =--F <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: May 16,1995 <br /> SUBJECT: LEASE RENEWAL; CENTEL BUILDING <br /> DEPARTMENT:PURCHASING AND CENTRAL SERVICES PUBLIC HEARING:YES: NO:_Z_ <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> PAM JONES, ext.2650 <br /> Lease renewal <br /> Telephone Number- <br /> Hillsborough 732-8181 <br /> Chapel Hill 967-9251 <br /> Mebane 227-2031 <br /> Durham 688-7331 <br /> PURPOSE: To consider renewing a lease with Central Telephone Company-NC for space used as <br /> offices for the Purchasing and Central Services Department. <br /> BACKGROUND: Effective June 1, 1990 the County entered into a lease with Central Telephone <br /> Company-NC for approximately 1750 square feet of space in their building at 132 East King Street for <br /> use as offices for the Purchasing and Central Services Department. This department administers the <br /> County's telephone system and the County's telephone switch is located in the telephone office <br /> building as well. <br /> The lease renewal presented herein will renew the lease through May 31,2000. The lease renewal rate <br /> is$18,375 per year for each of the fire years in the renewal period and represents a three percent(3%) <br /> increase over the 1990 rate. All maintenance and utilities are included in the lease rate. All other terms <br /> and conditions of the original lease remain the same. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: The Manager recommends that the Board approve the lease renewal with Central <br /> Telephone Company-NC from June 1, 1995 through May 31,2000 at a lease rate of$18,375 per year; <br /> and authorize the Chair to sign on behalf of the Board. <br />
